Dietary habits are closely linked to a number of preventable illnesses in the United States. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control, dietary factors are associated with 4 of the 10 leading causes of death in the US: heart disease, stroke, some cancers, and type 2 diabetes. Nutrition is also a contributing factor to obesity and osteoporosis.
